    I believe the point to be made is abundantly clear; a scientifically literate journalist would never presume 0.9 degrees per year when that is clearly not the case. It is likely that everyone makes mistakes and this one is a small whopper, easy to laugh at, only a little worse than Fox News misplacing Egypt but the same sort of thing — a script writer that is clueless about the topic at hand. It happens and will continue to happen when any organization comments on Everything. So it is not that big a deal but makes for good entertainment and a reminder that the mighty Beeb is not perfect.
